Family Tribute Film crew working doggedly on set

Our students resumed school today and for seniors this is a serious time. So let’s keep our sense of humor and reduce the stress on our kids.

On a recent college tour with my son, the admissions director revealed: “We’re not looking for every incoming freshman to be well-rounded, but to create a well-rounded class to make the university special. So show us who you really are. Your authentic self. Stand out with your strengths, your passions.”

So it’s not what you do, but how avidly you do it, that makes you unique and distinctive.  A video can show how what you do helps define you… and how you help define it.

We all know how stressful college applications are for both students and parents. A video is an opportunity for a student to stand out by demonstrating serious accomplishments and talents, as well as a chance to create something fun and entertaining – yet not juvenile– to catch the attention of admissions officers inundated with applications.

The following Family Tribute Film production stills (client names withheld for privacy) demonstrate how myriad student activities — no matter how serious or quirky– if animatedly pursued, can make compelling video for college applications.

Special shout out to Aardman for Wallace and Gromit images.
